The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity: TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS: Unless stated, no injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00.  06/24/2024: Jennifer Hendrix, Rushville was traveling eastbound on CR 395N NE @ CR 1715E St. and swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. The vehicle then left the roadway, striking a tree and flipping onto its top. On 06/18/2024 at approximately 11:46 AM a male kayaker aged 73, from Clio, Michigan named Riley McLincha went overboard on his kayak near a barge at the Lagrange lock and dam in Brown County, Illinois. Our office as well as several other local agencies responded to the scene to begin the search. McLincha was pulled under the barge in the lock chamber and was not wearing a life jacket.
