The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS:

Unless stated, no injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00.

04/03/2025:
A juvenile from Mt. Sterling rear ended a vehicle in front of Dot Foods, Inc driven by Emma E. Hendricks of Versailles. Two passengers were transported to local hospitals with injuries. Damage to both vehicles was over $1500.

04/05/2025:
Perry L. Hendricks, Mt. Sterling: Struck a deer on 975E St. @ 200N Ave. Jonathon D. Tweedy, Bluffs: Struck a deer on IL 99.

CITATIONS:

03/31/2025:
Wilmer C. Horn II, Rushville: Speeding 38/25.
McKenzie C. Bigley, Mt. Sterling: operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding 96/55 MPH Zone, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer. A passenger Christina L. Passmore of Versailles was issued a citation for Possession of Controlled Substance.

04/06/2025:
Marla M. Hayes, Mt. Sterling: speeding 72/55 MPH Zone.
Kayla M. Schwartz, Quincy: Speeding 78/55 MPH.
Cheryl L. Hayes, Jacksonville: Speeding 78/55 MPH Zone.
