Sheriff’s Report

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS:

Unless stated, no injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00.

UNIT: ISP Illinois State Police (ISP) Troop 6

LOCATION: US Route 24 at Timewell Road, Brown County

DATE and TIME: April 10, 2025, at approximately 2:01 p.m.

Preliminary information indicates the following occurred: ISP responded to a two-vehicle head-on fa-tal crash which occurred at the above location and time. Unit 1 (Toyota Avalon) was driving westbound on US Route 24 and Unit 2 (Chrysler Town & Country) was driving eastbound on US Route 24 near the intersection of County Road 200 East Street. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 head on. Unit 1 driver was pro-nounced deceased on scene. Unit 2 driver and passenger were transported to area hospitals where they were later pronounced deceased. All lanes of US Route 24 were closed and later reopened at ap-proximately 5:51 p.m.
