Sheriff’s Report

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS:

Unless stated, no injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00.

08/08/2025:

Jacob C. Miller, Mendon; was traveling westbound on US 24 and crossed over the centerline into the eastbound lane of traffic, causing Alan Quintana, Beardstown to leave the roadway and go into the ditch to avoid a head on collision.

08/09/2025:

Renaye N. Moore, Mt. Sterling was at the intersection of CR 900 and IL 99 and failed to yield the right of way to Brittney J. Kaufmann, Winchester, who was traveling on IL 99. Moore then struck the vehicle operated by Kaufmann.

08/10/2025:

Arturo Nolasco, Mt. Sterling; Speeding 70/55 MPH Zone.
