Sheriff’s Report

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports the following activity:

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS:

Unless stated, no injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00.

01/02/2026:

Ashleigh S. Carson, Rushville, struck a deer on RT 99/CR 745 E.

01/17/2026:

Tedros B. Gidey, Sioux City IA, was Eastbound on CR 265N Ave and swerved to avoid a deer and struck the guard rail on the south side of the road. He then crossed the road and went over the guard rail and came to rest on the north side of the road. Mr. Gidey received a citation for failure to reduce speed/accident.

CITATIONS:

01/19/2026:

Taylor M. Wettstein, Mt. Sterling; operating vehicle with expired registration.

A juvenile from Meredosia; Speeding 71/55 MPH Zone.
